The Prankster-Leonard Starr-1945

GCD credits Leonard Starr on this. Starr, the smoother than smooth artist of ON STAGE with Mary Perkins. All I can say is if it is, he got better. Meanwhile, Jim Vadeboncoeur suggests it's Maurice Whitman, another artist normally much better than this. But hey, they were young. Everyone has to start somewhere. So why not on a character who simply puts on a cheap mask and throws pepper in the bad guy's face? The most interesting thing about this strip is the telephone cord at the bottom of page 3, sending a little WWII propaganda.
