The Spectre and Percival Popp-Bernard Baily-1943

Not a great scan but readable and I really couldn't resist posting yet another Percival Popp the Super Cop episode of THE SPECTRE. The strip is so well remembered for its violent ghost hero that this era, which was brought in to replace that less popular premise, is forgotten or ignored. Basically, Spectre is stuck at being a permanently invisible helper to the clueless Percy. That's all you need to know. Now enjoy.

I dunno, Baily's drawn the Spectre much better than this. And whose bright idea was it to saddle the DC heroes on the All-American side with silly sidekicks? The Flash had Winky, Blinky and Noddy; Green Lantern had Doiby Dickles; Hourman had Thorndyke; and the Spectre had Percival Popp. I guess you could also add Wonder Woman's pal Etta Candy.
