Although not remembered as one of the great storytellers of the comic book medium, it's hard to deny that Everett Raymond Kinstler was nonetheless one of the great comics artists since he went on to a splendid career in "real" art including painting the official portraits of several presidents! His work here reminds me of Al Williamson's best EC style...only this came first!
