BLAZING WEST was an early title from Richard Hughes and his American Comics Group (ACG). THE BANTAM BUCKAROO here, from 1951, is drawn by young Leonard Starr. Starr would soon create ON STAGE, the slickly drawn semi-soap strip starring Mary Perkins (and currently being given the hardcover reprint treatment). Many years later he would take over LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE and still later collaborate with fellow strip star Stan Drake on KELLY GREEN, a series of some of the most beautiful graphic novels of all time.
