I Love You-Vince Colletta-1955

Some perhaps surprising Good-Girl Art here by the much-maligned Vince Colletta from a 1955 issue of LOVE ROMANCES published by Atlas (according to the cover) or Timely (according to the indicia) or whatever the future Marvel was calling itself that week. While the last page seems a tad rushed (note the coloring of the moon OVER the silhouettes) the rest is absolutely gorgeous. Reminds me (photo reference shots and all) of...dare I say it...Frazetta in spots!

aw, poor ol' Vinnie. alright, as an inker he ( mostly ) blew chunks ( although, I personally think he did a cracking good job on Thor ), but he really wasn't - as this trip proves - THAT BAD an artist. nice on, Steve.

Vince Colletta's illustrations of women are very lifelike, aren't they?
